There are two main types.

Cut metal with your circular saw.
Metal cutting blade this type of blade has smaller teeth separated by sturdy slots.
It may not be an obvious choice but fitted with the right blade a circular saw is a great metal cutting tool.
Thick using a ferrous metal cutting blade.
Not only will you need a different blade for cutting metal than you would for cutting wood but a metal cutting blade should not be used in the same saw as the type used for wood.
A quality saw is key.

Hot metal chips will fly everywhere.
Before cutting aluminum with a circular saw determine what type of aluminum you need to cut such as aluminum siding or an aluminum sheet.
Otherwise you may end up overheating the metal and cause serious harm to yourself and your power tools.
A carbide blade works but is more likely to grab the material if possible purchase a blade specially designed for cutting aluminum and other non ferrous materials.
Types of circular saw blades for cutting aluminum.
In our test it cut through rebar like a hot knife through butter.
You can cut mild steel up to about 3 8 in.
You can t cut through thick blocks of metal with this one however.
When using a circular saw you need to be sure you re using the correct blade for the material you are cutting.
Secure the aluminum to the saw horses with a clamp.
Measure the piece of aluminum with the tape measure.
It is ideal for thinner sheets up to 11 gauge.
Besides owing to expansion slots to excavate the heat rapidly it will hardly heat up for the light work it is doing too.
Place the piece of aluminum you need to cut on a pair of saw horses.
For cutting 1 16 thru 1 8 material use 10 teeth per diameter inch 10 x 100 tooth or a 12 x 120 teeth.
That said you should only use this saw blade for light duty cutting jobs.
