Place the sheet facedown on your work surface.

Cutting stainless steel sheet with jigsaw.

Cut through the sheet where you have put the marking. Lay the stainless steel flat on the worktable. Sharp edges are present on the cut sheet metal so use a metal file or sandpaper to smooth the edges of your project. Mark the cutting line with a marker on the backside of the sheet.

Measure the length that you need to cut the stainless steel with the tape measure. Instead of pushing it forcefully slide the jigsaw slowly and allow it to eat through the sheet metal. Do it carefully and slowly to make sure you get the shape right. Repeat the process to place a second mark on the stainless steel.
