Hello i have dell inspiron m5010. I have noticed that the fan was not working hence leading it to shut down automatically to prevent it from overheating and damaging the components. After that you should try to boot your computer. When i start the laptop the fan works only for 3 4 seconds and then stops.

The laptop heats up in a minute the screen becomes black and does not respond anymore. Try releasing the static power and check the system is working. Follow the steps below. However i am worried about their authenticity and life of the fan since it is not a dell original fan.

Remove the battery ac adapter and the power cable. I replaced the fan and the same thing happened with the new fan.
